Whew, I can breathe! Last Saturday was my dad's retirement party. Of course, since I'm "the stay-at-home mom" that doesn't work or really do anything (YEA, RIGHT! but that's what my siblings think anyway :) - I was voted to be in charge!
Isn't this the cutest invitation? I had to do these 'hard invites' as well as E-vites.
Everything turned out great! There was about 70 people there.... which was perfect. We had it in downtown Houston at a place called Lucky's Pub. I would've preferred kids to be invited, but really this was perfect for my dad.
My dad with his 3 brothers
(On each of the tables, I made the coaster-sized "Did you know cards?" about my dad)
It turned out to be a great conversation starter & very interesting
My dad & (step)mom
(Did you know my dad hit 2 Hole-In-One's? Each was witnessed by a number of people but two important ones! The first one was witnessed by his now-late dad, the other witnessed by the late Mickey Mantle).
My hubby & my dad (my 2 favorite guys) ... probably a little too many cocktails.
(Did you know my dad loves to fish? He once caught a stingray off the Galveston Seawall Pier)
Me & my bro (not the best pic of me, but a nice smile from him). (See, I remembered.... its not all about me!)
(Did you know my dad said his greatest achievement was being a widowed father to 2 of the best kids - me & my little brother!)
This is me, my dad, my sister, brother & other sis.
(No, I'm not pregnant.... its the dress) ...not about me, not about me - I'm trying!
Did you know, in his 39 years, my dad has had to work only one Sunday - that was the Sunday I was born! ;-)
Love ya Dad!!!!
